Affiliate Marketing Training
I once read an article titled “Affiliate Marketing Training – Is it Necessary?” To me that’s like saying “toilette training – is it necessary?” Of course it is. You don’t want to run around dumping crap all over the internet hoping somebody will clean it up for you. Once you’ve decided that affiliate marketing is the right path for you, the next logical step is to get some training. The number of options can be overwhelming for a beginner. If you’re not careful you can spend a fortune spinning your wheels. Stick with me as I go over what to look for and what to avoid when you start your search for affiliate marketing training.
What to look for when choosing affiliate marketing training:
• Free to low cost trial and a money back guarantee. Real, true, providers of content will put their money where their mouth is. Free trials or $1 trials are a requirement. If they’re confident in their abilities, they’ll guarantee your satisfaction.
• Lots of free information up front. I don’t mean the promise of a free special report. I mean lots and lots of useful information, and right up front. Weaker sites won’t offer this because they have a lack of content to begin with. If they teach you too much up front, they won’t have anything to sell you. A good affiliate marketing training site will have an abundance of knowledge to share, and will have no problem giving some away.
• The opportunity for individual attention as necessary. Some of the concepts can be difficult to understand at first. You will need to be able to ask questions, and you’ll want your answers right away. Many training sites offer little to no support at all. With some of them you send an email and wait 3-5 days for a response. If the answer to you get isn’t clear, and it sparks another question, now you’re looking at 6-10 days to solve a simple problem. So look for a training site that has a user Forum, but also frequent opportunities to consult with trainers as needed.
• Free or included software to lighten the load. While it can’t, and shouldn’t do it all for you, it really does make things faster and easier. Premium training sites offer top notch cutting edge technology free to their members. They also offer step-by-step videos on how to use it, and promptly answer any and all questions you might have.
What to avoid when selecting affiliate marketing training:
• Flashy websites covered with luxury sedans, white-sand beaches, and piles of cash. This is a sure sign that the Vendor has little of substance to offer. They’re simply aiming to trigger an emotional response in you that will result in your order. Quality training sites have the look and feel of a classroom. Instead of glamorous photos, you’ll see training videos and educational articles.
• Any sort of promise of overnight success. Learning this business takes time. Properly building a website takes time. Climbing to the top of Google’s search results takes time. There is software available that simplifies the process considerably, but don’t be fooled. You can build a profitable website in as little as 30 days with the right training and focus, but it will take work.
• Guarantees that the software can do all the work. There is software available that will do it all for you. The problem is they sold everybody else the same software too. Search engines frown upon this type of content, and your income will reflect this. The trick is to find software that will do most of the work for you, but also allow you to customize the content just enough so that the search engines won’t label it low-quality pre-packaged junk.
